Orchha is a city in Niwari district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, near Niwari city. The city was founded by the Bundela Rajput ruler Rudra Pratap Singh sometime after 1501, in the 16th century.
It comes in Bundelkhand and is very close to Jhansi city. Orchha is at a distance of 15 to 16 kilometers from Jhansi. The state is the seat of a former princely state in the Bundelkhand region covering parts of central and northern India.
